23 – 27 November 2026 · Koningsteen, Belgium
An immersion in IFSU practices: body, breath, silence, in a place designed for it.
Accommodation and meals are included in both options. One day: Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, subject to availability. Arrive at 08:45; the day package includes that day's meals, an overnight stay and breakfast the following morning.
Five days to take time to practise, slow down and build reference points you can return to at home.
IFSU practices — Vedic meditation, yoga, chanting, satsang — are hard to explain in one sentence. They are lived. This retreat exists for that: to give you the time, the space and the support to experience them from the inside.
Complete beginners welcome. No prerequisites. We start from zero if necessary.
Yoga & meditation · French-speaking Belgium
15 years of practice in the Krishnamacharya/Desikachar lineage. Co-lead of IFSU Belgium. Has taught in Ath since 2014 — anatomically precise yoga, IFSU Vedic meditation, a concrete approach without jargon.
IFSU teacher · Bilingual FR/EN
Based in Belgium for many years (originally from Denmark). Gururaj Ananda Yogi personally asked her to teach in Belgium — a direct, rare transmission. Co-leads satsangs and meditation sessions within the international IFSU community.
Two complementary approaches, one transmission. The retreat is held in French and English.
Not a tasting menu. A structured programme, built on 50 years of IFSU transmission. Each practice has a function. Together, they form something coherent.
The central technique. Personal mantra, seated practice, gradual inner silence.
Sequences adapted to each body. Postures, breathing, stretching — concrete, not spectacle.
Group mantra chanting. Sound concentration. A tool for presence that many people discover here for the first time — and take home with them.
Listening to audio/video recordings of Gururaj Ananda Yogi followed by group discussion. The philosophical heart of the retreat.
Guided relaxation of the layers of the body. Visualisation, Tratak (candle gazing), relaxation of the chakras. The body learns to let go without effort.
Every morning, before the practices. The green setting of Koningsteen. Shared silence creates something that words describe poorly.
The programme alternates practice and breaks, with adjustments to the needs of the group. There is time to rest.
Indicative programme — it breathes with the days and the needs of the group. The last evening welcomes Communion (an IFSU ceremony) and, for the night owls, the Midnight Special.
Kapelle-op-den-Bos, between Brussels and Antwerp. A centre established for 25 years, designed for residential retreats. Not an improvised Airbnb.
Green, quiet setting, conducive to contemplation
On-site accommodation — single and shared rooms
Meals included — prepared on site, adapted to dietary needs
Reachable from Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent in under an hour
This retreat welcomes people who have practised for 20 years and people who have never meditated in their lives. The two coexist well.
On arrival, you receive a separate introduction to chanting, mantra and Tratak — with practical sheets. You are also given a square-breathing card, for the moments when you wouldn't know what to do with your hands.
You will never be left alone facing the group without knowing what is going on. Never.
I looked at my diary three times before deciding to organise this retreat. Not because I doubted what we would do there — but because I know what five days together can produce, and I wanted it to be right.
What matters to me here is not turning you into seasoned meditators in one week. It's giving you tools that also work on a Wednesday evening, when the day has been long and you don't feel like doing anything.
— Marjorie (Margy)
No. Zero prerequisites. Complete beginners are welcomed with a separate briefing on arrival. If you already have a practice, it won't be ignored either.
No. IFSU meditation rests on techniques — not on a belief. The satsangs of Gururaj Ananda Yogi address fundamental questions (meaning, consciousness, everyday life), but without dogma or any obligation to adhere. You can practise without believing anything in particular.
Single and shared rooms are available at Koningsteen. The room type is specified at registration. Everything is included in the price — accommodation, meals, programme.
Both. Margy leads in French, Breeyana in English (and French). Group sessions are bilingual. No problem if you don't speak both.
